From USGS:

The epicenter is at 45.955°N, 75.546°W. That is 61 km from Ottawa, 58 km from Hull , Quebec, 52 km from Gatineau, Quebec and 49 km from Cumberland, Ontario.

The quake was at 19.2 km depth.

City of Toronto Earthquake Press Release:

STATEMENT

City of Toronto Earthquake

In our initial assessment, there has been no major damage to City infrastructure. Further investigations are taking place to confirm. The Toronto Transit Commission and Transportation Services have reported that there has been no damage to their infrastructure or interruptions to service.

The City’s Emergency Operations Centre is up and running in preparation for the G20 so the City is uniquely prepared to respond to the event. We will continue to monitor the situation and will report as necessary.

Residents should follow the instructions of their building management.

The City has received no calls concerning bridge, building or other infrastructure problems.

While not applicable to this event, in future, should there be a major or more serious earthquake:

Residents should stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls. DROP to the ground; take COVER by getting under a sturdy table or other piece of furniture; and HOLD ON until the shaking stops.
If there isn’t a table or desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building.

If outdoors — stay there. Move away from buildings, streetlights, and utility wires. Once in the open, stay there until the shaking stops.

If in a moving vehicle, stop as quickly as safety permits and stay in the vehicle. Avoid stopping near or under buildings, trees, overpasses and utility wires.

People in Ottawa say:

Glass shattered, pictures fell off walls and a small bridge was damaged near a series of small villages just north of the epicentre, at a dam called Barrage-McLaren.

Mervyn Mallon said traffic is being detoured around an old bridge near Bowman, Que., along Highway 307, about seven kilometres north of the epicentre.

The retired farmer, who has lived through a handful of earthquakes in the area about 55 kilometres north of Ottawa, said it was by far the biggest he’s seen in his 73 years.

“I was looking at a book when the mirror started swinging on the wall. I caught it before it fell on the floor,” said Mr. Mallon.

“The extent of it varies from house to house, depending on foundations and that sort of thing, but so far it’s mostly pictures and nick nacks.”

“People are a bit shook up because they’ve never experienced such a thing.”

About seven kilometres to the south of the epicentre, in Poltimore, Mr. Mallon’s daughter, Valerie Brunet, was gardening when she was surrounded by breaking glass and falling plants.

“I was in an outside shed and I literally thought the building was coming down on me,” said the dental assistant who was enjoying a day off.

“The dog was going nuts, running around barking. But there’s no real damage to speak of.”

Want to feel that again!
